The Philharmonic will host the Manhattan short film festival.

Sep 20, 2018

Spectators in Ukraine will be able to see a selection of the best short films of the year for the 12th time.

The organizers Ilya Dyadik and Andrei Bocharnikov, as well as the director of the Philharmonic society Yuriy Yanko spoke about the details of the festival in the press center of KHARKIV Today.

The world's largest interactive Manhattan festival of short films annually collects applications from directors from all over the world and presents another selection of finalists.

"Viewers of more than 350 cities around the world, including Ukrainian ones, will be able to watch 9 short films. In Ukraine, the festival takes place in almost 100 cinemas throughout the country," says program director of the festival, Ilya Dyadik.

The event was organized by the public organization "Kharkiv local community of Greeks Helios” with the support from the Kharkiv City Council, the Federation of Greek Communities of Ukraine, and Karazin Kharkiv National University.

The national holiday, the Day of Okhi, is celebrated annually by Greeks on October 28 since 1942.

Translated from the Greek, "ooh" means "no." That is how the people of Greece responded to the fascist troops of Mussolini to the proposal to go under the Italian government in 1940.
