Health, safety and SupportSafety, security and overall wellness of students are our highest priority. The staff at the EESA Kharkiv office follows strict security guidelines and is available on call for any health or safety emergencies 24 hours a day. EESA office in Ukraine receives updates from the U.S. embassy in Ukraine regarding U.S. citizen safety. The staff stays in close contact with local police department and other authorities for quick notification and response to any emergencies. The center has detailed plans for evacuating students should the need arise. All students who participate in the EESA-Ukraine program are provided with medical emergency and accidental insurance that is included in the program fee. Local EESA staff members will assist with any necessary arrangements. The professional staff at EESA will provide full support to students prior to departure, while abroad, and after the return. Our friendly and responsive staff is trained to help with any questions regarding student life, living arrangements, cultural adjustment, academics, personal issues or any other concerns that students may have. If students wish to travel outside of scheduled field trips, local EESA staff will be happy to advise and help with the arrangements for trips during the free time abroad. The EESA representatives in Kharkiv have experience in working with American students and are very familiar with local culture, institutions, infrastructure and the way of life. EESA strongly believes in the importance of extensive support network for students while abroad and assures that students feel at home while studying in Ukraine. |
