EESA would like to congratulate you on your decision to support your child in studying abroad! We believe that living and studying abroad is one of the most unforgettable and important experiences in a young person’s life. It’s a time of personal growth, forming a worldview, and making important connections across the world. Studying abroad has shown to have tremendous personal, academic and professional benefits.

We understand that you are concerned about your child going abroad and would like to assure you that EESA makes every effort to make this semester the most valuable.

Student safety is our highest priority. The staff at the EESA Center in Kharkiv consists of friendly and professional people. Besides regular business hours, they are available on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any medical or safety emergencies. The Center receives updates from the US embassy and is prepared for immediate response to any safety threats. All students are required to have a full coverage medical insurance (included in the program fee) to ensure the best medical treatment while abroad. If a student takes prescription medication, they are encouraged to bring enough for the entire stay abroad. However, if needed, most medications should be available in Ukraine.

EESA is committed to the highest levels of academics. Students will be attending one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe – Karazin Kharkiv National University founded in 1804. The classes are taught by some of the top professors of the university, who are highly regarded specialists in their field. EESA conducts academic evaluations on a regular basis to ensure the highest standard of education.

Students participate in exciting academic field trips and take part in different events organized by EESA such as visits to the Opera and Ballet House, National Museums and others. Together with other social events, this provides for the highest level of cultural immersion. Knowledge of a foreign language is not a requirement to participate in the program, but many students are able to communicate in Russian or even become fluent by the end of the semester.

Studying abroad has great benefits for personal and professional growth. Students learn more about themselves and our world, and make valuable connections across the globe. Those who studied abroad are always a step ahead of other job applicants for any position. Living and studying abroad gives benefits that no classroom setting can provide. We are a nonprofit organization and our goal is to provide the best learning experience. We keep the price of the program low and offer scholarships to make it possible for more students to spend an exciting semester abroad.
